The Role

We’re looking for a Front-End Web Developer to join our growing engineering team at Juniper where you’ll help build the future of education technology and contribute to implementing a seamless user experience for our front-facing products. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary design, product and engineering teams to produce wonderful new features as part of new product development, as well as improve the user experience of existing product offering. Along with the rest of the team, you will become an expert in the design system and accessibility while we build and maintain a beautiful user interface component library.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Implement visually compelling user interface prototypes (referencing design mocks and spec files) and build effective, responsive user interfaces across web and mobile devices.
  • Contribute to design standards and a component library, ensuring patterns and components are consistent, accessible and easy to use.
  • Work closely with Product Managers, Product Owners and the wider Engineering team to ensure that designs and product development blend effectively.
  • Collaborate and work closely with the design and engineering teams, providing and receiving feeedback and working to improve the Juniper user experience.
  • Works with Product Managers to develops concept pieces to support future project development.

Key Attributes and Competences

  • Passionate about user experience and promoting its importance.
  • Comfortable working across front-end, writing accessible and semantic markup. Strong working knowledge of writing logical HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Support and review Pull Requests in Github for the wider engineering team.
  • A good communicator able to work with people from both technical and non-technical backgrounds, with a collaborative and friendly approach.
  • A keen interest in UI/UX development for a SaaS application, with creative flair and an attention to detail.
  • An understanding and appreciation of design fundamentals.

Desirable

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails applications.
  • Using Figma to navigate designs.
  • Familiar with Storybook or similar

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year
